In the modern world, it is now as socially acceptable for a woman to have multiple sexual partners as it has always been for a man to do the same. Unfortunately, a man is not physically bound to carry the children he helps to produce, as a woman is by default. So, until some scientist somewhere figures out a way to make all man get all fat and have to endure all sorts of discomfort and pains for about a year every time they knock up a woman, the home paternity test is pretty much the best we are going to get.
If you have had multiple partners, there is a good chance you already know who the father is. But you have to be certain of it, or the judge may not allow you to get any sort of benefits from the man. If he has built anything in life, his children will have legal rights to at least a part of it. But those rights will only exist if you can prove that he is, in fact, the father of the child you are going to have (or perhaps already have). And home paternity tests are the best, least expensive method of locking down that knowledge for certain.
After all, you can have a gut feeling, and later find out that it was wrong. And you can believe something is a particular way, just because it would make sense for it to be. But these are not a solid enough basis for gaining paternity and its various rights. These are not a solid enough basis for getting child support from the man. And what's even worse, these ways have a reasonable chance of being wrong. Would you really want to penalize a man who is not your child's father?
Obviously, you may have a list of "suspects," when it comes to the identity of your child's father. And obviously, you are going to want to make sure to check each of them, so that you don't miss one by mistake. After all, there would be no sense in using up a perfectly good home paternity test, only to have no match. So use your list and get a paternity test to figure out who the father is. The earlier the truth is learned, the easier it will be establish your new family unit. So make sure you hunt out all of the most likely candidates, and test them all.
The really great thing about a diy paternity test is that it can be done in your own home, where you can have some privacy. There can be a lot of emotions involved, including embarrassment or even outright shame. With a diy paternity test that you can simply mail off and get the results to, the whole event becomes very discreet.
